Grant Application

Each year, SPSF awards dozens of grants to support educators within Spokane Public Schools, ranging from a minimum of $200 up to a maximum of $2,500.

Grant applications for the 2026-2027 school year are closed. We will begin welcoming applications for the 2027-2028 school year later this year, accepting submissions through March 31, 2027. The SPSF Grant Committee reviews proposals to select recipients, and all applicants will receive notification before the end of the 2026-2027 school year to learn whether their grant was approved.

The criteria used in the selection process includes:

  • Creative and innovative activity or program
  • Goals and measurable outcomes
  • Number of students impacted by grant
  • Student needs based on Title I, free and reduced lunch population, and schools without a PTG
  • Budget amount
  • Completion of previous grant evaluation (if applicable)
  • Direct student impact requests are prioritized (ex. materials for a project-based learning activity may be prioritized over instructor training for a new program)

Grant Evaluation Requirement:

All grant recipients are required to submit a grant evaluation form within 30 days of utilizing grant funds. Evaluations provide valuable insight about how grant funding supports classroom goals.

Evaluations may be completed online through the https://spokaneschoolsfoundation.org/grant-evaluation/ form. Please include student quotes &/or photos or videos of grant funds in action. Photos or videos may be featured on the SPSF social media pages to raise awareness and support our ability to offer future grants.

SPSF is proud to offer three specialized grants:

  • The Maureen Ramos Grant for Educational Innovation is awarded to support innovative programs or solutions for classrooms.
  • The College Spark Grant is awarded to support the educational dreams of students of color and low-income backgrounds.
  • The Kids in the Wild Grant helps educators create meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire curiosity, adventure, and environmental stewardship. Funding supports student activities where the majority of the experience takes place outdoors – hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, outdoor education programs, and more. Preference is given to projects benefiting students in Title I schools.

You may be considered for any of these grant types by checking the appropriate box below the dollar requested amount.
